Lots of confusion as to what is the correct audio with this video of Lisa Leonard Dalton dancing. Let's set that straight. This particular video DOES have the correct music. This cut is from Rick Derringer's 1975 album called "Spring Fever." Sloopy was also released as a single that time, but it did not chart. Now a decade before, in 1965, Rick Derringer was the lead singer with the band The McCoys. That first time the Sloopy song hit #1. The big draw of this 1975 video is not the redone faster "reggae-ish" sound track. It is Lisa's dancing. Bottom line: If you are watching it and the bandmates (not the McCoys) are playing marimba and steel drum...and you cannot hear the instruments...then it has the wrong audio track. This is critical info in identifying the dancer. In 1975, Liz in the UK was in her 30's...too old for the dancing girl. And if it had actually been shot in 1965, Lisa would have been too young. But being shot in 1975, clearly it's Lisa Leonard Dalton at age 19.

I spoke with Lisa Dalton who advised me that she won a dance contest at Gazzaro's in Hollywood back in 1975 - the prize was to dance to Derringer's Sloopy. She was beautiful!

Just want to say that I appreciate your determined investigation. There's a potential movie in this backstory search to find the true dancing legend in the video. Maybe Rick Derringer himself may be the only person to actually know who the dancer really was. Good luck.
