A tribute to one of the most beautiful moments in gaming.

During Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode 2, the final chapter of the series, you may find yourself cornered and alone in a dark and bloody room in the underwater city of Rapture. Death and hopelessness surround you as the looming shrieks of the mutated Splicers ring in the next room. When suddenly a song begins to play from a small radio nearby: a warm, gentle, lovely song sung by Elizabeth. In that unscripted moment, one is reminded of Elizabeth's long and tragic journey along side you, the player. And as we say goodbye to her in this final chapter, it's only fitting to look back in retrospect at some of our moments together.

Bon Voyage, Elizabeth.
Nous vous reverrons à Paris.

When Elizabeth said she missed Booker in the elevator was the saddest part

“Booker, are you there? I miss you... you were the only one that... you were my only friend...”
“I... I’m not Booker.”
“Could you humor me, then? Please...?”
“I think... Booker would miss you.”

Today 25th March is when Burial at Sea episode 2 was released. It is also 10 years we last saw Bioshock content. I play this tune today to commemorate

Bioshock Infinite isn't a perfect game but for anyone who's prone to emotional resonance it remains one of the greatest artistic achievements ever made.

All I see at the end of burial at sea ....is Booker in his 40s together with his daughter Anna in her 20s having fun in Paris taking pictures and drinking wine :)

Imagine getting attached to someone because they feel like an actual sweet person in real life then in the end you see them die from a wrench. This makes me want to go back to the ending of Bioshock 1 and beat atlas with a wrench to death.
Never have I ever cared for a character this much.

I felt so connected with this wonderful girl. Simple, honest, romantic... I truly felt the urge to protect her and get her to Paris where she could be happy with Booker. Ugh, I hate you Atlas!

After the ending of BAS, I played a wrench only run just to bash Fontaine's skull in retribution.

It's been 10 years and it still hurts me that Booker and Elizabeth couldn't get to Paris.

I just played through Burial At Sea: Episode 2, and admittedly, Elizabeth’s story is probably one of the most tragic stories I’ve ever experienced in a video game. I nearly cried when she died at the end, and it made me wish that she and Booker got to see each other again in the afterlife somehow.

See the pyramids along the Nile
Watch the sunrise from a tropic isle
Just remember darling all the while
You belong to me
See the market place in old Algiers
Send me photographs and souvenirs
Just remember when a dream appears
You belong to me
And Ill be so alone without you
Maybe you'll be lonesome too and blue
Fly the ocean in a silver plane
See the jungle when it's wet with rain
Just remember till you're home again
You belong to me
Ill be so alone without you
Maybe you'll be lonesome too and blue
Fly the ocean in a silver plane
See the jungle when it's wet with rain
Just remember till you're home again
You belong to me
