I think the winner would have to be based on time period, as other comments have stated, the f16 gets access to the aim9x, but if we go for the earlier versions, then the mig29 could have a greater advantage as(to my understanding) you couldn't slave your missiles to your helmet, and the mig29 could + the mig29 gets r73 as the video mentions. BVR wise, American radar missiles seem to be better at the whole guidance part.

Well, we have real world data on this in terms of how many have been lost in action.
The MiG 29's in Iraq were basically steam rollered.
Mig 29 is much more expensive being twin engine.
Should have been more of a peer to the Eagle or Tom cat.

Dumbazxz leaves out the F-16 has AIM -120 missiles bonding fight at all and now there is the f-21 very of the f-16 but put the MiG 29 up against the big brother the f-15 Eagle and it will loose hands down put any Soviet fighter against the F-22 or the f-35 and they are DONE! Furthermore Lockheed has a new plant with all the new upgrades so you can’t be for sure what the new weapons and also the f-16 entered service in 1979 read your information before you comment

The Mig-29’s combat record is horrific as are most of the Russian jets. The F-16 outclasses the Mig-29.
