This video presents a method for determining the dimensions of a Carolina Bay that is partially overlaid by another one. Points are marked along the perimeter of the bay and then fitted with an ellipse by the least squares method. The Python program that fits the ellipse provides the dimensions of the major and minor axes, which correspond to the length and width of the bay.
