Beginning Programming with Just BASIC -- tutorial 1

In this tutorial I introduce you to the world of programming. First I show you how to download the Just BASIC compiler, and then how to write and compile your first program.

Finally someone else who doesn't want to say "Hello World!". I never did care for that either. I guess I am a little "rebellious".
By the way, I already have this book and have done some coding. I still need guidance and don't know much about what I am doing. I want to keep learning. It is empowering. I would like to be able to develop some apps to better help people with learning and making it a game for them.

Thanks! I'm use to programing in commodore basic 25 years ago. I thought Id get back into it by using pc basic. I really don't know why there isn't more extensive documentation on it because there's a lot of possibility's. I see you can even do sprites but no good examples out there. I ran into your sprite video using just basic, so I just down loaded the software, and will try it out by watching your instructions. Ive never programed without line numbers, so that's something to get use to.

Thanks for pointing that out, I was unfamiliar with the term "interpreter" instead of "compiler" so I had to look it up.

After using justbasic for a long time, I found the Aurora Compiler, which has lightning-fast graphics and compiles into an executable file. Aurora is so much easier to use and is a lot more flexible, and doesn't have the restrictions that Just Basic has, as Just Basic is a stripped down version of their commercial offering, designed as FrustrationWare, to get programmers to shell out for something with only an incremental increase in functionality.

I started programming using the form of basic which came with ti-83 calculators :)

IT torpedoed my Programming class. what can I do now? I need to teach BASIC but all programs are using C scripting. is Just BASIC a good choice?
