I tried to cook a well done steak

It was harder to get a well done than I thought. This is definitely more towards the medium well side. I wanted to make sure to keep some of the juice intact.

Honestly, being black and from the hood anything with a bit of even slight pink in the inside was considered “not done”. I had to get out of the mentality and broaden my food horizons as an adult. And now I’ve found medium to be the perfect… medium.

for my wife I'll usually cook both our steaks to medium ish, then slice hers and toss back into the pan for a quick additional browning to get it where she's comfy 😀

This is the kind of steak and beef I grew up with. :o My father was very certain that if it was pink, it wasn't done. I've had different meat doneness since, and I honestly think I prefer the dry texture. It's just nostalgic for me.

This honestly looks fantastic. Who cares if you can see pink?? All that matters is that there’s a nice crust and a tender inside, and she nailed it with this steak. I would be very happy if I got this at a restaurant
