Owning a car in most of Russia is unnecessary any way. I like the look of the Lada Xray Cross, but even getting from the city I will be living in to Veliky Novgoro is only an hour on a bus. And to St Petersburg from there is 4 hours. Would take the same time to drive but much more when you factor in the costs of owning a car. And, as an Ame3rican, I would NOT want to drive in St Petersburg. LOL. Traffic there is hilarious as a pedestrian but must be insane as a driver.

Now with sanctions - sale of foreign brands like BMW, Mercedes, Citroen, Toyota etc all will go down at great speed while Russian and Chinese made brands will experience a boon. When the war is over - and those foreign companies return to Russia, they'd have lost customers with no idea of ever getting them back again. The Chinese are very happy and the Russians too in this situation. Additionally, I believe Indian cars can gain a niche too in the Russian market.
