I show you how to get a fluid gameplay experience in the big city which is extremely CPU limited normally.

Imagine having to use a 40 FPS framerate cap on a $2000 gaming PC... Capcom failed extremely hard with this game.

RTSS ftw as always, what an amazing piece of software.. Thanks for the update!

Thank you so much! I was using radeon chill but still got that weird stuttering, I can reach 60 fps in most zones but due to the constant drops I used your method setting it to 45 and now I can play smoothly!

please keep in mind that a frame cap should also be an evenly divisible value of your display's refresh rate. ie. for 60hz displays, cap needs to be 60, 30, 20, 15. for 120hz you can use 120, 60, 40, 30. for 144hz you need 144, 72, 48, 36. be careful to use a proper cap limit depending on what your refresh rate is set to. also turn vsync on when using a cap limit like this.

Was just about to comment on your other video about RTSS. I am getting almost stable 60 FPS in the city with 13700k.

Back then when my friends were stuttering in BF2042, I was not suttering.. then I remembered I have this capped in rivatuner as well.. maybe this was the key after all

Love using that feature of Riva tuner. It works great paired with fmf as well.

I've found most of the times, even when the performance is chugging, my cpu and gpu (3600X and 4070) aren't being fully utilized

I have nearly 99% same specs as U
RX 7900xtx OC, Ryzen 7700x (non 3D) but probebly I can nearly match 7800x3D thanks to my 6400MHz 30CL (tight timing)
Basically.. 40 fps for this monster RIG is just a huge no.. 60 fps would be acceptable for DD2 for this RIG
Overall, check 3:10 & U can see how optimizations is trash, pop in NPC 5 meters from U on highest preset? Crapcom is beyond saving for this title

More like slapping my face for being dumb enough to buy broken games over and over and over again. I’m glad I didn’t buy this game for right now. I just on the whole wait a year plan now for games. Lower price and usually plays better

That's another showcase on the lack of optimization on PC, nowadays even with the best Hardware you can't play any game anymore without DLSS/FSR at all and even then most of the time games still won't run as good as you'd expect them to.

At least on console you HAVE to optimize as a dev to actually bring the game on the system (unless you somehow slip it by like CP2077 did). But i've seen it countless times in the past years, where you could see how consoles more and more raise to the standard of PC (especially with FPS games where you can even pretty much get the same experience as on PC in terms of looks and performance), but PC more and more falls behind, as if PC isn't developing at all.

That's one reason why i actually more and more switched over to console again, at first i was gaming on PS2/Xbox classic, went and got the 360 and later the One (even upgraded to the One S and later the One X), then i got myself a PS4 and a very decent PC in 2015/2016 that cost somewhat between 2-3k. and things were still fine. But at least when the new consoles dropped (Ps5/Xbox Series) things went bad really quick. Sure not every game on console is "well" optimized too. But at least it is to some extend, but i feel like on PC it isn't at all anymore and in some cases games on console not only were running better but also looking better than on PC (Far Cry 6 for example and AC Valhalla). And even to this day you have difficulties to run CP2077 on some PCs due to hardware differences. But on console it runs perfect.

I'm back at that point where i actually prefer stable 30 over broken 60+ in terms of frames. It's tiring to see how in the age of great technology and AI support, gaming the pillar of milestones for hardware and software engineering of that sort is lacking more and more.

mine goes down to 45 but i just cap to $60 and im not really getting bothered too much i just want better performance already

I capped the framerate with RTSS but even though the line is flat I can see the micro stutter still, the frametime graph is not reporting it though but you can see/feel it

Will this work with Nvidia control panel as well(if you don't want to use MSI)?

why its so cpu intensive? its doesn't look like the npcs are much better when comapred to other rpgs

Not to mention how BAD that RT implementation is when it comes to vegitation where it flickers like crazy. I turn that SHEIT OFF and use Reshade and their RTGI solution (which does a better job and barely noticable flickering in comparasion) and other effects which makes the game look A LOT better when it comes to texture, lighting, god rays, bloom etc.

I'm ashamed of how poor the gaming industry is when it comes to optimizing stuff and how the final product looks.
Luckiley on PC, Reshade fixes the look of a games in many aspects where I'm happy the community does stuff like this to fix their sh*t.

24 FPS is what you get if you go to the movies and see John Wick 4 or most other fast action movies.

People are upset that you can't get high FPS everywhere in this new game on old PCs by sacrificing graphics quality.
In a PvP game I'd like to get rid of the grass and bushes altogether (only on my monitor of course). DD2 has no PVP. It has characters with their own schedules who are assigned virtual processors making the game CPU bound in cities.
My biggest complaint of other RPGs is the empty feeling of the cities. DD2 addressed that. It's still got the graphics quality; I'll give up performance so long as it's above 24 FPS. (OP, have you shown your before and after footage to people without telling them which is which to see how many can't tell - or like me don't care about - the slight difference?)

People are also upset that DD2 doesn't look like a 2024 AAA game. It's Dragon's Dogma 2, whose art style was set by Dragon's Dogma on PS3 12 years ago.

People are also upset about P2W/MTX when you can hit Pause at any time in combat to heal and buff yourself and your party with all the items you find for free in the game. The items you can buy are insignificant - they provide minor convenience early in the game.

Your solution on getting a "smooth" framerate is to lock it to 40? What the fuck
