This has nothing to do with banning under 16s and everything to do with getting 16+ social media account linked to their identities so the Government knows who says what on social media.

I believe that because they are banning social media, many children will be outraged. Social media is not only a haven for new opportunities and learning, but a platform to interact and make new friends with others. Many students at school are unable to make any friends with those in their class, but online, they may actually have someone to talk to.

Also, students only have 6 hours each day to interact, more than half being a time for learning, so it would be unreasonable to cut off any form of social media and prevent any interaction out of school.
