American tiktokers seeing the government control what they can see and going to an even more Chinese app is a really funny form of protest. Good for them

Edit: seems like some people in the replies think I disapprove of this. I think it’s fantastic that they’re standing up for themselves and their freedom of speech.

As a Chinese I am watching Americans chat with Chinese friendly in Red Note, they even compare the heathcare or do exam for each other . What a united world !

I deleted my FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM accounts due to Zuckerburg bending the knee and kissing Trump's ring. Ba-bye.

At least on Xiaohongshu the Americans and Chinese are interested in learning each other’s languages and culture. I hope it doesn’t end up like the NYC and Dublin Portal

what do you mean could sell? it's like trying to force me to sell a kidney when I had absolutely no intention of doing so in the first place...what don't the American lawmakers and media get?

We got more things to worry about than an app. How about doing something about the school shootings instead of worrying about an app?

US: Don't go to China, it's dangerous.
China: (lifts visa requirement; US people flock to China)
US - 0, China - 1

US: No more TikTok, it's dangerous.
China: (does nothing; US people flock to Xiaohongshu)
US - 0, China - 1

It is indeed a surprise to the Chinese that Americans can access Chinese applications, but it is also a good thing. The exchange of information between the two sides can break the hatred set up by governments and allow the Chinese and American people to understand each other.

Bro this is so dumb rather than banning an app they should work on our country instead like making stuff cheaper or fixing the border

So glad TikTok is gone. Everywhere I go people just glued to their screens nonstop without the courtesy of wearing Bluetooth earphones so everyone else can listen to the repeated videos on high volume. It's like second hand smoking, but to the ears.

You gotta admit that youtube feels less personal, here you talk mostly to strangers who use anonymous pseudonyms while tiktok was successful in motivating the creation of personal accounts just like instagram

I don't have a tik tok account, and never use to, but why is the US government more concerned with banning this website than they are with pornhub and onlyfans?
