Most Tellurides don't even hit the lot. The ones that do and sit more than a day only sit because they're marked way up.

The issue with these "fastest selling" stats is they don't really take into account volume. The Corolla vs Accord for example, nearly identical price used and days on the market, but I suspect there are a lot more Accords than those new style Corolla hatches. The Q60 isn't popular if you go by new car sales figures, it likely sells faster used because of depreciation and not a lot on the market.

Hint: Teslas spend 0 days on a dealer's lot.

Days to sell is an indicator of supply and demand, and what dealers/OEMs consider optimal inventory levels. For example, full size trucks need higher inventories because they have so many options/configurtions and you want to make sure you have something for everybody in stock otherwise they will just go to the competitor's lot next door. On the other hand, high inventories cost money because they are depreciating assets that will require more incentives to sell as the next model years roll out. Another factor would be if there is a plant shutdown coming up for retooling the next model, you will want boost inventories to ride out those couple months of lost production. Therefore, what these numbers are telling us is how OEMs are balancing their inventory levels based on production and incentives and not just which cars are in high demand.

I can't believe the X6 sells that well. It's so ugly.

TOTALLY agree about the cross over coupes! Ugliest design fad of recent memory.

Chevy Volt 2nd generation, best car ever... based on today's use. Long and short distances. Never gas up during city driving and uses gas on long distance driving. Charging does SUCK!!! But 2019 charges at least at 7 kw. Might not be for everyone, but does for me, too bad they did not build it from scratch so it could have a bigger battery. Cheers!

One of the reason for slow selling on new car is there isn't much of discount as before the covid. Dealers are holding off the rebate to keep cars in their hand and grab for more profit for fear of a shortage. Right now only sales they give are long term 0% apr which is nonsense. I'd rather have bigger deals up front.

We had one Bolt in our area by the time I got to go look at it...it was sold.

Used Model 3s have barely lost any value over two years. Some are even more expensive than new. It's crazy.

I feel the same way about the X6 - Looks somewhat sporty (as far as SUVs go) yet, all of those coupe-like SUVs typically look really stupid and impractical. I just don't get it.

my sister drive a bolt for work. She loves it. She wants one. For a city daily driver, you can't find better.

The RAV4 Prime is NOT a vehicle. It's a marketing ploy. Toyota sent a few pre-production vehicles to reviewers to drum up interest while announcing that the entire first year production (not yet even available) will consist of 5000 units, virtually all of which are already sold. But don't despair, Toyota promises to produce 25, 000 Rav4 Primes for the 2022 model year. But you can bet that each and every one will be spoken for when they go on sale a year from now. So realistically, the soonest the vast majority of customers will be able to purchase a vehicle is about two years from now.

What's up? Simple. The objective is two-fold. First, to put a brake on sales of other brands' plug-in hybrids already available or coming soon. Second, to draw potential customers into dealer showrooms where they can be convinced to purchase a Rav4 Hybrid rather than wait for two years or more for the Rav4 Prime. Smart marketing but hardly an honest effort to sell the Rav4 Prime.

Meaningless because it's dependent on SUPPLY as well. If there's demand for 3 and you only have 2, it's now a 'hot seller', no.

Obviously, the demand vs supply equation largely determines the vehicles on this list. The most extreme example is the Chevy Trailblazer. It has been on sale only since the second quarter of 2020. That means it has not been an especially noteworthy achievement to sell 6700 vehicles during the first half of the year. On the other hand, this list is useful information for dealers whose profit depends to a large extent on how quickly they can move vehicles off their lots and cease paying "flooring" charges. If I were a dealer I'd like to know the average number of days a particular model sits on dealers' lots. If that model sells more quickly on my lot, it's good news. If not, I may have to adjust prices or advertising.

damn that sucks they only are gonna make 5k toyota rav4 primes, sounds like an awesome car, most of the time it wouldn't need to use gas!

I’m actually kind of bummed to see the q60 on this list because I was thinking about picking one up soon. If they’re selling them too fast, I won’t be able to negotiate a good deal lol

I find it interesting that there were 4.4 million new and used cars sold in 3 months, during a pandemic resulting in so much unemployment.

I was hoping the Veloster would be on the list. It'll show manufacturers that manual sports cars are still worth making. I know sports cars don't sell well but it's still hope.
