I have 2 pup siblings that are almost 9 months old. 1 is deaf and the e-coller has worked great with her. It has a vibrate mode which is all we use.

E Collars are not a punishment tool and should never be used unless the dog has a clear understanding of the behaviors expected on command. The e collar is a reinforcement tool used to communicate with your dog.

I'm considering on buying an e collar for home training. My dog continues to jump on guests and i can't stop it. He won't do it to me but he will do it for new people. He's already too smart for the house leash or if I'm near. So the leash step on doesn't work because he knows better. Trying to train my guests is not effective either. He's like a bad kid that knows it's wrong only when I'm around basically. Lol will an e collar work? If so, what's the best method to do this the right way after getting them used to the e collar?

It's not suppose to be used as a correction, it's used as a communicator, on the lowest setting the dog can even feel.

Mine don’t respond to sounds like that whistles and their names but not always when I want them to I can shake a bag of treats right in front of them and they’ll still want to chase another dog or continuing whatever I don’t want them to do I finally got my lab to take things after I say it’s okay and not snatch stuff from your hand but my husky hasn’t budged he’ll sit for a moment and then straight back to hyper mode and he’ll repeatedly sit just won’t stay still and he’ll just start jumping on you.

10 plus years? That’s presumptuous when many dog breeds are lucky if they make it 10 years and large percentage of your audience are rescues.

YES! Ecollars are hard for dogs to understand! You need to communicate with your dog, NOT punish it. Some dogs need a slip, a gentle leader, even a prong if its hard to physically control. The goal of these isn't to train your dog, but to give you time to train your dog. You can't just pass off the responsibility of training your dog to equipment! Training equipment should be temporary, not permanent. Because it's for *training*
