I feel for you Zeez. Trying to learn and get better at a hunter, especially when you get matched with meta survivors who play their main or support heavy teammates can cause lots of struggles in matches. And it can feel really discouraging, but your first match was really good! Keep up the work.

This is why in the 4 years I’ve been playing this game, I never try to main hunter. The pressure is much higher. There’re so many things you have to micromanage. And not to mention the loses really get to you, cuz unlike survivors where sometimes it’s not entirely your fault (sometimes someone else in the team messes up etc), when it’s hunter you really feel like it’s your fault (when sometimes it’s just a bad day, or sometimes the survs are just way too good and in a whole team VC).

So all this is to say, please don’t be too hard on yourself. Playing hunter is extremely hard and emotionally taxing (especially in higher ranks). It’s just normal that a normal person like you and me won’t be able to play like tournament players who’s been practicing for years and years as their full-time job. So hope you feel better soon :)

Also I think you’ve got great game sense. Sometimes you’d be like “I think he’ll be over here” and I’d be like “HOW DID HE KNOW??”

hunter frustration is extremely real, and in a way, i appreciate you putting your raw and authentic frustration and anger in videos. it makes me feel a lot better about my own. if it makes you feel any better, ive recently picked up mary and im at the point with her where i just eat pallets all the time because everyone knows how to counter her and i cant ever win mind games. its always so frustating trying to learn new hunters especially in higher tiers too. i reached the lowest manticore rank as of last season and it feels impossible to learn anybody even in qm. but anyways, this was a really long winded comment to pretty much just say thank you for being raw and authentic while showing your frustration as hunter lol. thank yew zeez :))

Zeez, as a peak tier hunter every season that also plays opera I’m gonna be honest. She’s good right now but Ivy is better and also doesn’t get banned in rank, personally I don’t want to learn her so I don’t, but if you’re willing to learn her it’s a lot easier than learning optimal dash routes on every map with opera for a lower return than ivy especially in rank since opera currently struggles to get a win vs very good survs( since after last season people got a lot of practice going against her) but ivy is better (at least in rank) due to the communication issues. So yea, that’s my take. This isn’t about tournament but if you’re planning to try playing hunter in tourney then yea imo opera is more consistent than ivy but also ivy can push for wins more so it depends on how risky u want be.

The way meta surv compositions only come out when playing hunter. Play surv and 90% of your teammates lock enchantress LG & TME. Play hunter and they’ve got Merc acro prospector + decoder lmfao.

Learning a new hunter is hard & opera has an incredibly high skill ceiling. Keep at it, you’re doing great!!!

This probably feels a bit mean but watching you struggle playing opera makes me feel alot better about my own opera, because when I play her, I keep making the same mistakes you do and the survivors countered the exact same way they did in this vid lmao.
