Woodturning an olive root platter FAIL !!!!

in this video i try as many of you ask to make a platter form olive root !! the platter made was sacessfull but the finish goes totaly wrong !!! i put a new Selack that a friend gave to me couple of days before and everything goes bud !! the rest details you can see at the video !!! see you next sunday !!!

Hi Kostas,
I have learned to work with copper, brass, sterling silver, steel and even a little with aluminum.I have learned to build, repair and restore fishing rods.I even learned how to fly my friends small Beachcraft airplane!I did it all by making a L O T of mistakes.
Now I make mistakes on my wood lathe too! LOL
Some people hide their mistakes to make them look better then they really are!
To learn we MUST be determined and accept our mistakes, learn from them and move on!
You made a mistake with the finish you used but you overcame it and fixed something that many would have given up on!
Bravo!!!

Thank you for this one! I got a rootball 12 years ago and after 30 minutes of turning realized that I was not experienced enough at 2 years to do it justice? So it has been drying out? Now I am inspired to turn part of it like this platter.
