To be fair, when I grew up and rewatched episodes of Rugrats, I kinda realize that they were bad parents if they kept losing their kids. In reality, child services would have taken them away years ago.

Fun fact the actual writers and animators of Rugrats would write faux scripts like this as practical jokes on each other. There was one story where the writing staff wrote a fake script involving Tommy walking in on his mom and dad!

Like Didi is one to talk. Every single adult main character on Rugrats has let the kids wander off into danger at some point. Didi and Stew more than anyone. Only one with a semi-legitimate excuse is Grandpa when he nods off. They never said it but the way he passes out I think he has narcolepsy.
