There are so many things to do in Moab, Utah, but what are the best things to do? This epic place has canyons, rivers, hiking trails, mountain biking, museums, boat tours, rock formations, winery’s, historic sights, jeep tours, national parks, the list seems to be endless. So it can be hard to know where to start when booking a trip or planning a quick visit. Especially if you are a complete outsider to Utah or the United States in general. We’ve put together a list of the fourteen best things to do in Moab, Utah.

Here’s a quick taste: Moab Museum of Film and Western Heritage. This museum is located within the Red Cliffs Lodge, which are both part of the Red Cliffs Ranch. This ranch has been a filming location for many films. Some of the most notable films that were shot on this ranch include, Warlock, Geronimo, Rio Grande and Thelma & Louise. In the late 1940’s, the legendary filmmaker John Ford discovered the rugged beauty of Moab’s canyonlands and filmed the first of many movies at the ranch. Hollywood stars such as John Wayne, Henry Ford, James Stewart, Anthony Quinn and Rock Hudson have all worked on location at Red Cliffs Ranch. If film and history isn’t your thing, maybe mountain biking is more for you.

We’ve got you covered with biking the Slickrock Trail. The Slickrock Trail is a popular mountain biking destination. This 10.5-mile trail takes riders over a landscape of petrified sand dunes and the eroded remnants of ancient sea beds. Mountain bikers rate the Slickrock Trail as one of the more difficult rides in the Moab area, both technically and cardiovascularly. That’s just a couple of examples. So stick with us as we take you through the fourteen best things to do in Moab, Utah. Enjoy the video and get planning on your exciting trip to Moab, soon.

You can see the signs of a global flood all over. The strata left in the different layers of the rocks is what happens in a world wide flood. Beautiful!!

Did this man just say that Canyonlands formed over "many decades"? I mean technically you're not wrong, but try "millions of years"

The winery is no longer there. It is something else now. We just stayed at Red Cliffs Lodge last week.

You missed the local jail. Very quaint, quiet and friendly. It’s a whole lot less dramatic compared to jail in Salt Lake, Denver or Miami.

I grew up in moab and went to school there and shit, it's crazy to see how it's changed over the last 25 years. Shit used to be home until we had to move cause they don't pay people shit there, not to mention how much tourism is there now days. Fucking insane but it is beautiful there.
