This same method can be applied if im running an application on my system that Palo cannot ID? As long as im able to gather what ports/protocols the App is using.

PA can block facebook chat and video. facebook server used HTTPS (443) and a traffic between a client and FB server are secured . so how does firewall know these traffic is chat traffic / these traffic is video traffic ?
