I was on an American Eagle out of Atlanta some years back that nearly got wiped out of the sky by a 747...
I was wondering why the pilot had the engines screaming and the nose pitched at about a 40 degrees.
Having a window seat, I had to look out and down in time to see a 747 passing underneath us.

Many close calls in the US last year or so. FAA investigating but no other info has been released for all these near misses. Very comforting

When you're in a plane that big, that high in the air, going at that speed, 700-1000 ft apart must've felt like 3 feet!!

American Eagle didn’t takeoff. They were instructed to go around as they were coming in to land.

I fly out of that airport and this almost happened to me at night when a newbie ATC was being trained. Kinda crazy! Thats y u always need to be aware and check everything for your self.

That's it, I will never fly again! I will only drive from now on, because this never happens on the road.
