The labels people give us affect the way we think about ourselves. To overcome the way that labels affect us, we need to focus on the way we build our personal brand. Yemi shares his story of how he went through this process.

Yemi AD is a multiple award winning choreographer and director living between Prague and Los Angeles. He focuses on highly artistic & conceptual executions of live shows, music videos & commercials. He has been a member of the creative team of Kanye West since 2010. His company produces dozens of events, shows & projects internationally every year.

As semiotics should be theory of signs, I have to agree to the futher comments. It's just talking about signs, labels and brand but not about a structured, scientific reflection of signs.

The comments are concerning. I studied semiotics at an Academy Award winning school and this Ted Talk *is* about Semiotic Theory. Words are also signs and so "labels" can be critically analysed in ST. YOU as a person are made up of signs. You are a sign. How do you think movie characters are modelled? My professor is published (Oxford) BTW (see Michiel Germishuys/Michael Ivy).
