GIS For Biologists: Tip #6 - How To Transform A Data Layer Into A Different Projection
Показать описание
This video is the fifth in a series of helpful hints and handy tips for biologists who want to use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in their research. It provides a brief introduction on how to transform the projection/coordinate system of a data layer using QGIS.
One of the most common problems that people encounter when using GIS is when an individual data layer is not in the same projection/coordinate system as either the GIS project itself, or other data layers in the GIS project. This means that once you have set your projection/coordinate system for your GIS project (see video tip #4) and added a data layer to your GIS project (see video tip #5), you may need to transform it into a different projection/coordinate system, and more specifically into the same projection/coordinate system as your GIS project. This video takes you through all the steps that you need to follow in order to do this.
