I want to know how self-driving vehicles will work in the future. We have seen Google’s self-driving cars but what about semis and larger vehicles? Or how construction could be done with this technology in the future, could we just program a vehicle to go do a job and then it’s done at the end of a day? This could lead to all kinds of possibilities.

What about the future of medicine? Deep sea exploration? Communication? Computer interaction? Farming? Scientific research (open access journals and all that)?

We already use them in industry to cut steel and as you just said, they can destroy diamond. I think they will be used from afar in the demolition industry, instead of using explosives and spending days or weeks wiring a building up and protecting nearby buildings, just use several high-powered lasers to either bring it all down at once or use them to pick it apart more gradually, as you go, for lower-rise buildings. I think this demolition method will become the norm in the future.

I would like to know how dreams will work in the future. Will they be controlled to be certain things? Will they be monitored/recorded so that you can always remember them? Or could they be made into a method of entertainment... I hope I'll find out in the next episode!

P.S. I think lasers will be used for cooking and preserving in the future. I don't know how well the cooling or de-sanitizing part would work out, but I'm sure they'll be used in these ways in the average household.

Another way to use lasers: Ionize the air in front of a vertical takeoff ship with a magnetic field and experience no air resistance. A reflector on the bottom of the ship will make the lasers apply the thrust to take off, too.
