nobody knew this record was even happening, I had no idea about it until they put out The Stage music video. so for it to make $76k in sales the first WEEK for an album nobody really knew about (correction: nobody knew the release of it until like a week or two before)? shit... if that's a failed sale week I'll take it. who cares anyways? they've been making music since the late 90's and they're STILL kicking and headlining sold out shows. but alright lol.

Releasing this album as a complete surprise made me respect this band even more. It makes it seem like they wanted to please and surprise the fans with this brand new, amazing album. It shows that they really care about the music the create/play, as well as showing care for the fans that support them, rather than trying to make as much money as possible.

I love avenged sevenfold and like 90 percent of songs they have. The new album I just can't get into though. After listening to it a few times I can't say any specific track I actually like.

These guys are smart and do what they do with good intentions and for the right reasons. The Stage is one of the best albums of the last 2 decades. A band with their popularity and stature can thankfully get away with 8 minute long singles and surprise album releases because the respect the fans give them is given back by the band. I hope Matt's words hit home for the people trying to undermine them!

They did pretty damn well with record sales considering it was a surprise. Plus less sales means they'll have to pay W.B. less if they lose the case lol.
