A U.S. expert says North Korea′s nuclear and missile threat is a lethal danger that continues to grow unconstrained.
Van Jackson, a visiting fellow at the Center for a New American Society, says the size of Pyongyang′s nuclear arsenal is unclear, but the regime is moving in the direction of establishing a "survivable" nuclear capacity.
He said nothing in U.S. policy today suggests North Korea′s nuclear progress will be halted and added while a diplomatic solution might still be possible, Washington and its allies must be prepared for the "political-military realities" that follow.
Jackson served as an Advisor for Asia-Pacific Strategy at the Office of the Secretary of Defense until last year.
