The sign in front of this restaurant is prominently written in Russian! It turns out, this place is near Russia, and many Russians come here after work to taste Northeastern Chinese cuisine.

No. Russian wording has not been put everywhere. They still put English. The only place is up north in northern Heilongjiang. I live in harbin. And travel frequently. No. It’s all for show. Beijing has reduced English signs, but that’s it

Do the Chinese people realise they've just time-travelled back to the 1950s?

China is separating from its second wife (U.S.A.) and going back to first wife (Russia). Essentially going from the Penthouse to the Trailer Park on the World Stage. 🤣🤣🤣

Lmao that's fine. The rest of the world has stopped buying or using Chinese products and food.

As a Brazilian, I tried to learn a few foreign languages and English is the easiest one to pick, even Spanish which is closer to Portuguese is harder because just like Portuguese, Spanish has convoluted and complex gramma rules. English grammar is pretty simple and straight forward.

Learning Japanese or Mandarin was daunting to me, all these complex characters that take an eternity to write with so many dashes, some of them extremely similar to other put me away. I see no reason to learn Mandarin or Japanese unless you want to live in one of these countries. But even as a businessman travelling a few times a year in one of these counries English is good to go.

China should limit overseas travel only to friendly countries, namely Russia, North Korea, Iran, maybe Pakistan?

No way Russia won't try taking advantage of this situation every moment they get. Besides, passing off English for Russian will ostracize China even more.

That Power of Siberia pipeline seems like it is terribly prone to sabotage and other explosive acts. Best line was the person noting that by learning Russian, it will make it much harder to steal technology.

Here in India almost all signs are in local languages and English. Kind of like Hong Kong. If you know English you can live comfortably in India without major communication issues. Most Indians are bilingual, they all know their local language + English. It's not just the signs, they can all even speak English quite well too.

You shouldnt worry of either. Work on removing CCP, rebuild, create, your own reality, free of either. Frustration is bad. Utilize what you need to move forward, give no more to them. As you cover your own areas as you wish, speaking as you wish, they simply wont halt you. Get rid of all cameras. You are not their victim, if you all stand to end their oppression.
