Worried About Cruising in 2021?

If you're worried about cruising in 2021, I don't blame you. There are a LOT of things to think about and loads of things that we haven't talked about yet. I'd like to put your mind at ease about a few things.

I really hope that my channel has been a place of reassurance for you in 2020. I try to keep things realistic and optimistic and I've tried to keep you up to date with all of the cruise news! (My goodness the pace of change is fast).

In this video, we will look at things like how cruise lines will deal with reduced capacity, vaccinations, positive test results, getting coronavirus tests pre-cruise, and more.

OMG, THANK YOU FOR YOUR OPTIMISM! I am seriously tired of the "doom and gloom" of some other YouTube videos, I'm beginning to think they're seriously crazy with their sky is falling attitude! We are ... concerned ... about our cruise in February. Our main concern is we need to fly cross-country for six hours to get to Orlando for our sailing, then we're in Walt Disney World the days before and after. Lots of time around lots of people, and I just don't trust people to adhere to precautions and somehow slips into the bubble with COVID. Plus, if the timeline for a negative test is short, we'll need to find where we can do it in Florida, since before we leave might be too early.

I can't believe how many people are worried about the precautions rather than the risk of catching the disease in the first place. SMDH

Just a little worried but we are booked on Explorer 2 for June 21 for an Adriatic Adventure. This was transferred from a March Caribbean cruise. We aren’t worried about trips as we usually do 50/50 organised or wandering, we’ll just be excited about having a cruise again

This is just excellent Emma :-). Fingers crossed hopefully cruises will resume in 2021 and hopefully fingers crossed we'll be in a far better place by 2021. But at least they've got mitigations in place for the timebeing in case we don't have coronavirus treatments such as medicine or vaccinations against it but at least for now they have the measures in place since coronavirus is still out there and even now as of 2020 when some carefully began to resume sail. I still don't intend to cruise in 2021 Emma but hopefully 2025 I'll try and cruise :-). Another time if cruises don't resume in 2021 another time :-). Thank goodness this isn't the Spanish Flu where we wouldn't of have enough medical treatments or enough mitigations against it before we finally had immunity against it in 1920. But nice stuff all the same Emma and really lovely to watch :-). But I certainly wouldn't believe all of this would last forever on a cruise it will relax eventually but it will take time as we all know. Coronavirus could burn out naturally but still we don't know. But thanks indeed Emma and take care :-).

Hard to do a "homeport" cruise out of Toronto! We had wonderful weather on my British Isles cruise in 2018. Three Scottish ports, two Irish ports, one Welsh, one English and one Channel Is.

Hi Emma, I worked on cruise ships for five years. Every port a cruise ship goes to, the cruise line has a port agent, so say you were in port and doing your own thing and something happened and you missed the ship, your passport will be with that port agent, he or she will be waiting at the port for when you arrive, the port agent will help as much as they can to either get you home or to get you to the next port to rejoin the ship. I don't know but logic tells me that if you arrive at the port and get a positive corona virus test and are not allowed to join the ship the port agent will help you. I hope this information is of use to you. Great videos BTW.

Such a great idea for video! And I guess there is potential for part 2, 3, 4, 5... etc.

Maybe we are forgetting, that before Covid, there was plenty of reasons to worry; if you wanted to be worried. Some of them have been eliminated by new procedures. Either you are an optimistic or pessimistic; no matter the circumstances. Anyway.. It is always refreshing to get a good dose of positive energy and once again Emma delivered! :)

Anything can happen when travelling! Just remember, that it's worth taking some risks as the reward from the experiences is priceless.
