To make the infinite lava source you first have to connect it to another (smaller) infinite lava source

(POSSIBLY PATCHED) Fun fact: the bottomless supply can be made of flowing lava as well. Meaning you can use much less lava to make your hole. If you use a few tricks even as low as 1 bucket.

the dripstone lava generator will generate infinite lava from a finite amount of lava, you will have a low output of lava untill the point where there are 10.000 lava sources in the hole, at which point the create mod will not remove lava anymore when you pump it out due to it registering it as "bottomless", which means the lava lake will output as much lava as you want without possibly depleting.

yes, you can use cheats, but thats lame af.
even more so if you play on a server with your friends.

You don’t need to power the hose pulley, it will just place the lava or suck it up using the power from the pumps

You could also do a 25x25x16 hole for exactly 10000 blocks.

Or, quicker method.

Use a nether lava tap with an interdimensional train that is constantly bringing a supply of lava from the nether and putting it into the hole.

I just have a spout in the nether filling buckets that come back to the overworld, empty, and then go back. That was also pretty easy.

25x25x18 and you can just place 41 lava buckets just to cover the surface(flowing lava blocks count) and then for about 40 lava buckets you got infinite. I do it all the time. Also download an addon that lets blaze burners suck lava without needing deployers/mechanical arms so you now have infinite fuel and make like 60 steam engines for free stress units.
