It's such a cumbersome process but i'm sure the Blender team will take a look at it, Sometime, Eventually.

One thing to keep in mind.
Don't forget to apply scale on the ridgedbody physic objects (The cubes) with CTRL + A.
If your ragdoll turns into spaghetti, take a look at the scale of the objects.

Personally I think it's better to change the constraints from point to generic. that way you get options for limiting linear and angular location/rotation for each rigidbody connection!
This imo works better than limiting the bone rotation itself, I experienced scenarios where the bone would flip if the rigidbody made a 180 degree rotation with the bone having a rotation limit

0:32 well my rig mesh is low poly so it shouldn't be too hard for my computer to simulate the entire mesh

i followed this, rewinded a thousand times and finally got it done. put my character in the pose i wanted, funny ragdoll ensues, put camera, put render settings and bam, blender crashed. exported file only shows the first and last frame. blender recover file gives me the time i had created my first 4 cubes... rip project XD

Honestly, ive been looking for ragdoll physics in DCC apps for a really long time, C4D didnt have it either, i remember 3ds max having a fairly good system, im sure blender could implement something similar with rigify to automate the colliders process. Hopefully someone makes an addon for this maybe haha .

This is the best process I have seen for ragdoll rigs in blender. My only problem was that when I applied the limit rotation bone constraint, it started snapping the rotation of the bones, breaking the whole thing. I tried a lot of solutions but didn't have any luck, even tried applying a limit rotation constraint to the rigid itself but it doesn't seem to work with the simulation. Do you think there are any solutions?

I know this was posted a while ago, but I'm stuck at the part where you select the armature then the model and create the weights. How did you make it so when you select the armature in the outliner it selects all of them at once?

the restriction applies to all guests, and even if I choose one, it still applies to all the dice. how to fix it?

How can you pose your rig, even animate it like classic normal rig? And then at some key-frames, go to "Ragdoll mode" ? Then eventually come back to rig mod?

Thanks for this! Do you have an idea of a workflow that could make this set-up reusable, so that we can start from a different pose? Without doing everything from scratch, that is. :)
