Remember back in the 80's and 90's when we dreamt of how amazing it would be to have hunger of channels with unlimited entertainment? that dream came true and it turned entertainment into content with no creativity, no fun, no talent and no quality. Movies and shows have turned into content just to be consumed and forgotten. I guarantee you, in 2 years from now, we all will see a poster of this movie and then will watch it and about halfway through we will realize that we actually saw it

Great review! Yes, was expecting and wanted to know more about the town of Holland. It’s in the name!

I live in the actual Holland, MI. I thought this movie was awful as well 🤣 Was looking forward to see how the city was portrayed, and was left unsatisfied. They got the “everyone pretends to be ok on the outside” trope but that’s about it. Also, their accents weren’t even close. Rough watch.

I went into this blind so I was surprised where the movie landed (wasn't watching too closely). Wish they would have focused less on the romance and more on the last act. I liked the idea of the miniature town and wish they incorporated more of that into the story.

If this film were made in Holland, with a Dutch cast and director, and they’d stuck with one, clear genre (suspense or dark comedy) based off the script and plot used (weak, done to death) then Holland would’ve been the kind of flick getting 65% at RT.

Instead it’s a forgettable mishmash of half-baked ideas, and a waste of a cast, especially Macfadyen and Bernal. The kind of goofiness that required no stretching from those two talents, although all three main actors try to rise above the mediocre material.
