I think Hikaru was just being controversial. Anish has played some phenomenal, adventurous chess these last couple of years. However Hikaru is kind of right, Jorden is a rival to Anish, a serious rival, and in a few years he will probably be better.

The argument of who is better can't be based on head to head clashes only.
Their results against the field is the most telling factor. For example Effim Geller had an overall plus score against Bobby Fischer (+3 to be exact) if that was all the context we used, the conclusion would be Effim was the better player.
