Which is the largest all-cargo airline regarding their airplane fleet?
In third place, we have DHL from Germany with 191 planes! Following in second place, we have UPS with 290 planes!
And number one, as an all-cargo airline with 385 planes in the main fleet and 284 within the contract fleet, is good old FedEx!
Now you know. Like and follow for more aviation facts every day.

But without any doubt, Aerosucre has the most competent pilots of all cargo-airlines... ;-)

Damn fedex has stepped up their game with two sets of aircraft fleet, one main fleet and the other a contract fleet

My brother worked for FedEx for 10 years, and he would always say FedEx had the number 2 fleet of cargo aircraft in the world. Only the US military has more.

I had a hunch about it being number one.
It simply has the first mover advantage.
As in, being one of the earliest.

I've heard the cargo companies are a big buyer of old planes that have been retired from passenger service. They just strip the interiors and fill them up with cargo. Cargo planes can often end up being old and no longer used models.

I live 1 mile from London Stansted and seen FedEx flight #1 for nearly 40 years. In the old days FDX1 (Stansted to Memphis) was a DC-10. Then gradually a mix of DC-10/MD-11, then mixed in came the 777, sometimes a chartered 747. These days just 777, very occasionally an MD-11. They are so loud, love it! My 18 year old nephew has now got a part time job at FedEx sorting, London Stansted. He really enjoys it.

Another fun fact, UPS was going to be the launch customer for the A380!! But Airbus delayed the project to put more emphasis on the passenger version so UPS got 747s instead 😅😅

I live about 20 miles from GSO FedEx hub. They operate on their own runway. I frequently see their planes flying over my house. Up until a few years ago the president plane would fly in to do touch and go because it was long enough. As a general rule GSO is not that busy with regularly scheduled flights compared to RDU or CLT.

That's a pretty big gap between Fedex and UPS/DHL, I didn't think UPS had such a big fleet

Nice to see the DC-10 is still flying after such a streak of bad luck
