I can't believe these aren't in wider use. My family has had one for 30 years now. Yes, it's had and has its issues, but overall it works great. We have a similar setup but use a foot valve with a tuned spring instead of whatever that little thing is he has. If it works it works, that's great.
I actually rigged up a small wheel that catches the water coming out of the foot valve, it spins it and powers a small led flashlight that allows me to look out and see if the ram is running. No light, ram is off.
Good for days when it's cold but on the edge of needing to shut it down.
Also, our setup pumps to tanks well above our house, and we have great gravity pressure. When the tanks are full, the overflow travels down a small tube to a nice water feature we built in the backyard.

Having built multiple ram pumps myself I can tell you neither the pool loodle nor the intertube is necessary or even beneficial to this system. Increase the diameter of your inlet pipe in order to increase the pressure in the pressure vessel.

That's basically the same principle as an accumulator bottle 🍼 on an HPU skid used in drilling preasure control BOP's.

Would a water heater expansion tank work for this? They run about 40 bucks.

Can you just use an expansion tank in place of the tube?

I could get my Davincy pump to pump up almost 600 ft in elivation. Pretty handy.

Just add an air valve to the top of the chamber and add more air. No need for fillers.

Try using a airbag from Simi truck seat may be small enough to fit in and may help give you a little more pressure

I made a ram pump back in 2000 to make the creek run water 400 feet up to run a water slide down my mountain i always used a intertube dont know how u made it work with a noodle we would change the pump pressure based on using and not using throughout the year the weather change also needs more or less

I been searching around trying to learn how to size my water ram pump for what I'm gonna use it for. Basically move as much water as possible without building an industrial sized unit.

Can I use a garden hose as the drive line going into the pump? And a garden hose on the exit side of the pump?
