For those saying the Oracle told him he wasn't the one. She clarifies later that it was what he needed to hear, not what was the truth. Neo really hadn't accepted that he was the one and needed to believe it. He never would have believed it just because she told him so, and she knew that. She told him what he needed to hear to become the One.

Haven't seen the movies in a long time but I remember the Oracle telling Neo he is not the one.

The prophecy says the one will be born in the matrix not born and put into the matrix. Agent Smith was born in the matrix and is the one spoken of in the prophecy. Even the oracle says that neo is not the one.
