Very nicely done James. I like the trick of using the envelope in looping mode. Pro tip: you can "sync" the envelope to your beat (say, 1/16th notes) by taking milliseconds per that note at your bpm --- which at 89.5 as you are, would be just under 168 milliseconds. Then, divide that up between attack, decay, and release of the envelope (attack 40ms, decay 40ms, release 87.6ms, or whatever). When you play, the envelope will then repeat at 1/16th note intervals. As you have things set up, modulating the second filter frequency with envelope 2, this makes for a nice effect.

It would be really nice if Ableton allowed you to automate the depth of individual slots in the modulation matrix. That way, you could pull this effect in and out of the mix over time if you wanted, making it wobble hard and then back it off, etc. As it is, you have to automate the global automation amount if you want to do that.

Ableton has done a fine job with this synth --- I may try recreating this patch in Serum to compare.

Thanks again for the interesting tutorial and for tossing in lots of great tips on modulating higher harmonics while keeping a solid lower note, filter differences, layering, etc. Very cool stuff.

Nicely done. I got mine today and couldn’t wait to play on it but found it a bit confusing. This has sorted me right out and I’ve got a full day to play on it now exploring what I’ve learned. Thanks 😀 Sub’d ✌️🔊👍
