Ableton LIVE 10 First Look

We were at We Are Robots in London yesterday and got some time with product specialist Jesse Abayomi to take a look at some of the new features of Live 10.

My biggest concern with this version is that they didn't name it Able10 Live.

I think people forget this is really an update from 9.5 rather than 9.0. Live are no longer waiting for the next big update to add features you will continue to get them incrementally like you have over the last 4 years.

6:40 Yes, we can. Actually, we can already do that in Live 9 with devices like Sampler and EQ8.
You can open a second window with Ctrl+Shift+W (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+W (on Mac, it think, I'm not a Mac user) and then put that window on a second screen. One window always shows the session view and the other one the arrangement view and one window always shows the device view and the other one the clip view. both options are independent of each other.
So you could have the clip view with the session or arrangement on one screen and a fullscreen Wavetable/Sampler/EQ8 on the other one.

Hi, i am ableton user since 2006. for almost 10 years in the ableton forum, many people has requested Sandboxed/container for VST plugins, SMPTE timing window, lack of reading midi type 0, VST3 support, surround sound etc... Sorry, I am deeply disappointed with ableton now as they doesn't hear consumers. I don't need cosmetic update. I think it's time for me to start learning Bitwig studio.

Can we please have split at warp markers, strip silence, split into equal parts sort of thing. And custom shortcuts.
A couple of great new features but more like an update than a new version. You can now reverse by pressing I'm quite underwhelmed. Guess if you use max a lot it's great.

It's very rare on this channel to see some focus on software like Reaper, that is not marketing based. If we focus on concepts, then there is not need to believe the hype.
