Lightpollution is really interesting. There was a huge blackout in New York(or another big city in the US, i don´t know exactly) and many people called the police because of the unusual lights in the sky. It turns out these light are the milky way.

Also as photographer light pollution is annoying, the contrast between the stars and the overall sky is often not high enough. Even several miles away from any kind of civilisation.

From space light pollution looks kinda cool.

My city has regulations to prevent light pollution, as astronomy is big here, but the bigger city here is ruining the effect.

Moths end up congregating near the artificial lights.  Then the bats end up congregating where the moths are.  Then...  I don't know what else, but I'm sure there's a chain reaction of some kind.

It should be mandatory that lights go out at night. I hate light pollution. I wanna see our universe in its full glory at night. Im too close to the east coast.

A more recent example of birds getting lost were the light beams at the World Trade Center where the towers used to be. Birds were getting trapped in the beams and they had to shut it down.

Wanna stop light-pollution? Make night-vision goggles that are inexpensive and that WORK, like fitting the Oculus VR with low-light cameras to give full-field vision.
Everyone would stop using outdoor lights and just switch to night-vision.
Current night-vision equipment is awful.
