Mexico’s Independence Day was actually September 16. Cinco De Mayo is a celebration of the victory in the battle for Puebla. Cinco De Mayo is a bigger deal in America than most places in Mexico. 😅

The tamales look like burritos and not tamales. It's almost heartbreaking. However, I am assuming that you were doing the best that you could with what you had. Also, the guacamole only looked like it only had avocados. Where are the tomatoes and cilantro? The original mole has over 54 different kinds of chili pods and ingredients to include high-quality Franciscan chocolate. All in all, I am thrilled to see that both food and dance have the capacity to bring humanity together and find strength in our diversity. Thank you for sharing this with us.

As someone who is half-mexican I am very pleased to see that everyone has enjoyed the food but I'm very unsure that they actually ate tamales because the tamales that they were given didn't look like real tamales

It's a joy seeing everyone loving most of the food presented to them. Hmm...Mexican and Pakistani culture has some interesting similarities:
1. Deeply religious
2. Had to historically shake off multiple colonizers
3. Loves spices in their food
4. Loves tamarinds
5. Thriving civilizations for thousands of years
6. Never afraid to throw big celebrations and live it up
7. Never afraid to wear colorful clothing and celebrate their cultures

Ok but in México we don't celebrate 5 de Mayo, It's just called "la batalla de Puebla" and Is not a party, not special at all. The real party Is 16 de septiembre (our independece day).
