I recall an episode of Gordon Ramsay Hotel nightmares, where one Hotel didn't offer breakfast, so Gordon went to a taco truck, which just happened to be run by a line chef from the hotel's restaurant, he loved it! He was so impressed he made that chef the head chef in the hotel restaurant, and got him making breakfast at the hotel.

It's so true though! There was a food truck in my little neighborhood growing up I'd chase after like an ice cream truck, those tacos were and still are better than any sit down restaurant and the ladies were super sweet (even if I didn't understand them much growing up). Went back ten years later, not only were they still there, they even remembered me! Felt like a kid again, always tipped well. Cried once when i could only afford the meal and not tip and they were just like "ohhhh, shh shhh mijo. Is ok, you take. You take, is ok. Go" much love to those ladies

Male tacos: hefty amounts of ingredients, not necessarily in order or color coordinated. Female tacos: neatly packed in proper proportions, no mixing of ingredients, wrapped with lovingly care, SWAK and a hug, and "tuck in that shirt".

Us Canadians have a similar sound, where we've been known to say "eh?", with the very same effect of making you sound like a real hoser. Yeah, no, for sure, eh? LOL.

My wela died about 10 years ago. Visiting San Diego, I was at Chicano Park and went to a Mexican joint a block away. It was ran by older Mexican ladies, and they almost made me cry, they made me feel like my wela was feeding me. Awesome and refreshing experience because I live out east due to work where I'm not around any Mexicans. We do have some Salvadoreans and Peruvians, but not the same.
