Measuring and fitting wardrobe doors can be a relatively simple task but there are a few elements you'll need to consider to make sure they're done correctly. Learn how to measure and fit wardrobe doors with this step by step guide from one of our Wickes experts.

How to measure up for sliding doors:

1. Measure out the depth of your interior, leaving a minimum of 620mm for both your interior and doors.
2. Measure the height in three different locations.
3. Measure the width in two locations.

How to fit sliding doors:

1. Measure and cut both the top and bottom tracks to suit your opening width.
2. Fit the top track by screwing equally across the width of the track - ensure you use suitable plugs and fittings for your ceiling.
3. Position the bottom track beneath the top track.
4. Insert one of your doors into the back channel of the top and bottom tracks and then position your door on both sides to make sure it's vertical (nudge the bottom track backwards and forwards to do this).
5. Once vertical, mark the position of the bottom track on the floor at both ends.
6. Remove your door and secure the track by using double sided tape or appropriate screws.
7. Refit the door and apply the anti-jump mechanism on the bottom wheels.
8. Level up your doors by using the height adjusters on the bottom wheels.
9. Starting with the back doors, repeat on all the remaining doors.
