How young do you need to be to get banned from a cruise line? One family found our even a nine year old can find themselves being banned for life.

When he destroyed the arcade game and got into a fight with another child why wasn’t he detained right then and there and his parents notified? Who in their right minds allows a 9 year old to roam a cruise ship alone? She luckily that’s all that happened!

If a nine year old is that bad, the cruise line is well within their rights to ban this person. Probably the parents should be banned as well.

I worked as a an elementary para-educator in public schools until 2018. My daughter is a classroom teacher of 9 year olds currently (3rd grade). With each year, children are coming to school less prepared to cooperate, follow rules, and learn. Parents do not set up the expectation that their children should behave well at school or in public. You can send a very badly behaving child to the principal or guidance officer and the child will be back a few minutes later with a lollipop and show off his reward to the class, and sneer at the teacher. Kids disrupt the lesson for the class and the misbehaving kids will call out, “This is boring; my mother said you’re not a good teacher!” “I’m not doing this math; it sucks!” Children who are minding their own business and are assaulted at school are told by authorities ;principal and guidance) that they have to work it out. Teachers are not supported by parents or administrators, and the children who are not there to learn and who are boldly disrespectful, destructive, and abusive toward others and who damage school property are given positive attention, bribes, and coddling. It is so disturbing!!!

I have no sympathy or support for the parents or child and I side 100% with the cruise line. This family finally found a situation where that shit doesn’t fly. Being banned for life because you are a risk is a GIFT for this kid! He and his family can use this gift of a logical response to their own unacceptable behavior as an opportunity to learn how others feel about having to be around them. They can accept the gift of the brat they created being rejected, and use it as motivation to teach him to be respectful and to behave within the norms of society.

The parents haven’t taught him. The teachers aren’t allowed to teach him. The cruise line decided to step up and teach him. I applaud the cruise line!!!

It was supposedly said that the mother or parents claimed that he was out of his medication. But I'm like why would you take a child who's supposed to be medicated on a cruise without a refill of his meds? And if so why would you allow him to roam around on his own on a cruise full of strangers?

Nope. Hotels evict and ban people for life. I know. I worked in them. You get evicted from apartment rentals. You get expelled from school. Carnival has every right to do this.

Well if he was fighting and destroying property at the age of 9. What's he going be like at 15 years. This should be a warning sign to the parents.
