In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.

Contestants has forced Alex to do some horrible things over the course of this show but I kinda love that the thing that finally made him show genuine annoyance was being asked 161 stupid questions.

Ardal completely shitting the bed here but then fluking the correct shoe at random from the pile outside is like hitting the golf ball directly into the water from the tee on a par 3, wasting two strokes, and then hitting a “hole in one” with your second drive to end up with par

Honestly I think the trick here would be to go by location in the room rather than appearance. Stand in the center of the room and ask if the show is to your left. Turn 90 degrees and ask again. Now you've essentially reduced the room (and possible pool of shoes) to 1/4th what it was with only 2 questions.

Thinking about it I suspect the most efficient way to do this is binary search: dividing the shoes into two groups and asking if it's in one of them.

"NO WAY!" I was expecting the full task not just Ardal's melt down. I'm amazed they all got it right in the end.
