2023 Toyota GR86 - TESTED AT THE LIMIT - As Quick As They Say?

We took the 2023 Toyota GR86 on track to test it at its limits to find out if it's really the affordable track car Toyota claims it is. The 2.4L flat four engine makes 228hp and is supposedly a better performance vehicle than the last generation.

We took it on track with nothing more than brake pads and brake fluid to see how it performs at the limit in essentially stock form. I'm going to compete in the 2023 86Cup in Stock Class to see how much performance can be extracted from a car with minimal mods.

Wowww. This is such a throwback sports car, it looks really well setup from the factory for this kind of work, can't believe it's 30k!!! A modern Porsche 944? I do like the concept of no overkill on brakes, weight, power like modern cars including BMW Ms vs the Lotus balance approach.

My 80's AE86 wagon wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding. This is chalk and cheese.

You need to get camber bolts and an alignment, if you aren't installing coilovers right away. I found it greatly improved turn in and mid corner stability/adjustability on this car (relatively inexpensively). Looking forward to more videos. P.S. How can I get into racing? I’ve only ever drifted by myself so I don’t really know how to get into a racing position with no contacts or race experience

Uh, the 1M isn’t a high horsepower car buddy, it’s basically the same thing as the gr86.
