How to Clean CPAP? In this tutorial, we'll guide you through the process of cleaning your CPAP machine, mask, and tube. You'll need mild dish soap, distilled water, a clean towel, and a soft-bristled brush. Unplug your machine and disassemble the mask and tubing.

Soak them in warm, soapy water for 15 minutes, then scrub gently with the cloth. Rinse thoroughly with water and air dry on a clean towel. Use a damp cloth to wipe down the exterior of the machine, but do not submerge it in water or use any liquid cleaner. Finally (optional), turn on the machine without the mask and tubing attached to clear out any dust or debris. With regular cleaning, you can help ensure the longevity of your CPAP equipment and prevent the buildup of harmful bacteria.

The content got me, but Tristan's subtle humor kept me! Great information, concise instructions, wish I'd found this sooner!

I clean my CPAP equipment in a very similar way. However out of an abundance of caution, I always do one final rinse with distilled water. This helps rinse away any of the impurities in your tap water.

thank you for this straight forward, informative video. No wasting time with dramatic fluff production, just the exact information I needed to clean my cpap.

You are THE BEST presenter for this procedure I have seen. I have been very lax at cleaning my machine, but this has inspired me to follow this procedure and (at 73 years of age) it may indeed lengthen my life-span!

Thanks so much for going into such detail! I don’t use a cpap, but my husband does. I love him so much; I want to make sure he’s getting the most out of it and it’s helping him instead of hurting him. I’m actually excited to clean it for him tomorrow morning 😂

Thank you for your demonstration. I learned more from your video than from other websites. I didn’t realize that there could be bacteria in my sink. I will definitely purchase a plastic tub/container and use it just for cleaning my machine and it’s parts. I am eternally grateful for your help with the cleaning of my machine and parts.

Pro tip: to dry out your air tubes briefly turn on your CPAP (it will turn mostly off when it realizes you’re not using it) with the humidifier on its lowest setting and with no water. Because it thinks the humidifier is on it will do a light airflow to dry out the tube. I will also do this with the CPAP machine placed up high in the room and the tubing sloping down to the floor so excess water gets easily blown out.

I didn’t realize how important cleaning this was! I just recovered from pneumonia and won’t be lax again. Thank you so much for this useful information.

I loved that I stumbled across this video. I'm new to the cpap life and have been cleaning mines like half assed imo. I will do a more thorough cleaning this weekend. Thanks!

I had my machine damaged by using tap water. Had to have it serviced and faithfully using only DISTILLED WATER from now on and no issues. I have a stock of masks and hoses as backup for future even though I do have insurance. Better to have extra incase.

Love how you were honest about the parts. My insurance and provider for mine is ridiculous in the US trying to charge an arm and a leg to replace stuff every fricking 2 weeks, 4 weeks and 3 months. It's nuts.
