Fedora (formerly Fedora Core) is a Linux distribution developed by the community-supported Fedora Project and owned by Red Hat. Fedora contains software distributed under a free and open-source license and aims to be on the leading edge of such technologies. Fedora has a reputation for focusing on innovation, integrating new technologies early on and working closely with upstream Linux communities. The default desktop in Fedora is the GNOME desktop environment and the default interface is the GNOME Shell. Other desktop environments, including KDE, Xfce, LXDE, MATE and Cinnamon, are available. Fedora Project also distributes custom variations of Fedora called Fedora spins. These are built with specific sets of software packages, offering alternative desktop environments or targeting specific interests such as gaming, security, design, scientific computing and robotics.

I'm sure this is very helpful... yet I can only take other people's word for it, since it's only visual with no accompanying audio explanation. Sorry I can't add to the praise down in the comments, but I'm visually impaired and was really hoping for a narrated explanation of the dos and don't don'ts like I've seen for other distros. I was looking for info on how to install Fedora to an external hard drive.

It is a true shame that Fedora uses anaconda for install. It takes way too much effort. I hope they look at the work that Endless OS has done and copy it. A 1-click install, no questions asked other than you name and an installed that works from inside of windows for dual booting. Wow. I hope the people from RedHat or Fedora are reading this. I will try to install Silverblue but I have a feeling Anaconda will screw up that instsll with crashes too.

It was stuck at writing objects for about 6 minutes and then it moved on and when it got to installing boot loader I started to get nervous. After about 10 minutes of waiting for the boot loader to install I finally gave up. I decided to try turning off secure boot just to see if that would make a difference. I was thinking because endless installed with secure boot turned on that Fedora OS tree would have done the same. I guess not. I don't mind turning off secureboot to install. Even Microsoft makes you do the same when you install Windows. 4 hours later it is pretty clear that The issue is the logic and code behind the Anaconda installer. This is the problem with Linux. We have too many projects that wont copy what works. Ubuntu insists on using snaps when flatpak is excellent. We have Fedora which insists on using Anacomda when Endless has a virtually flawless installer. We have KDE that insists on promoting their Desktop when Gnome is excellent and flexible without feature-bloat. Thre are some times when this is good like Xorg vs Wayland. The installer is not one of those situations. Linux at least needs an installer that has certainty of success . I can say I have installed Endless OS on over 30 different systems old and new and never had an install fail.
