Space 1999 tribute (no AI)

Space 1999, which I saw on TV when I was a kid, was one of the sci-fi works that struck me the most, so I thought it was right to pay tribute to it...
Made with Cinema 4D and edited in Final Cut Pro X, it took about two weeks to complete. I didn't make a precise replica of the original scenes, but I gave it a more personal cut.

Funnily enough if you were to reboot this series but set in the present, the ships would still look perfectly suitable which shows how good the design was.

In Chinese, the name of the ship is translated into a word that's almost a pun for "fly" (as in common house fly), which makes sense since the head of the ship looks like the head of a house fly.

This was fantastic. I fell in love with the show, well more accurately the Eagle back when I watched it as a kid way back when. There's so little quality fan stuff like this unlike Trek and Wars. I know I'm not the only one who'd love to see more.

great job with this! Space 1999 really has a lot of potential for fan films, itd be nice to see more of them. Despite being made in the 70s, the tech has aged well and still looks good 50 years later....

This made me imagine: if "Space: 1999" got the Remastered Star Trek Original Series treatment: CGI for Eagles in flight and planetary textures (as in this IMPRESSIVE video!), combined with the actual miniatures of buildings, vehicles on the lunar surface, Eagles landing, etc. (which - I can't help it - I still find to look more realistic).

That was (and is) amazing. No other words would describe it so well. It is as though it were made for the show. I remember Space: 1999 when it was shown the first time in the 1970s and it is still a great show - it could easily be remade (assuming we had good actors) with a great set of graphics like this.
