Pidem is a low/mid quality restaurant in terms of taste actually. The reason why is it so popular is the prices. It is more affordable than many others, but not in your case because you aren in an airport lol

You can eat all that for 400-600 hundred depending on the city but airports are really expensive. A 5 lira water bottle would be about 50-60 liras in the airports.

OMG THATS A SCAM! And you not liking lentil soup absoloutely broke my heart lol. My mother used to make it to me when i was sick as a kid. I haven't tried Pidem's soup but it is my favourite soup!

The displeased/explanatory Turkish comment you were looking for here 😂:

-Lentil soup is a national delicacy, the go-to soup of Turks that we all LOVE and calling it the worst thing on the menu may give people the wrong idea that it is anything less than spectacular. Also you should have squeezed some lemon on it, dipping some bread too.

-Sütlaç does not have condensed milk in it, the density is due to the milk being boiled with flour. In fact I don't think Turks use condensed milk for anything. Do they even sell those at markets here? 🤔

-Please do not call lahmacun Turkish pizza, because it is in no way form or shape pizza. It is lahmacun. Spiced ground beef on a very very very thin layer of dough that happens to be circle shaped. 😂 Eaten as a wrap, not sliced. Never sliced. With lemon juice and greens inside. Not at all a pizza. People will be disappointed if they eat lahmacun expecting a pizza experience. It's straight up false advertisement lol

It's airport prices for sure, normally Pidem is a food option on the cheaper side. you can have a decent meal there for around 200, 250 liras, which is less than 10 bucks. for the menu you had it should cost even less than half of what you paid.

Sutliash is a rice porridge cooked in milk and sugar. Then yu refrigerate it and you can eat it by itself or top it up with dry fruits, jam or cinnamon. :)
