Vice President Kamala accused former President Donald Trump of leaving behind a legacy of "the worst unemployment since the Great Depression," "the worst public health epidemic in a century" and "the worst attack on our democracy since the civil war" during the presidential debate on Tuesday.

"And what we have done is clean up Donald Trump's mess," Harris said of the Biden administration.

She then promised to "build on what we know are the aspirations and the hopes of the American people" and be a president "for all Americans," warning about the implementation of Project 2025 policies under Trump's administration if he were to win reelection.

Harris and Trump met for their first and possibly only debate on Sept. 10, hosted by ABC in Philadelphia. Harris replaced President Joe Biden as the Democratic presidential nominee this summer after Biden gave a troubling debate performance in June, increasing calls for him to drop out of the race.

According to the latest PBS News/NPR/Marist poll, more than two-thirds of Americans say they will watch all or most of the debate. While many voters have already made up their minds, 14 percent of Americans say the debate will have a great impact on which candidate they choose.
