Buses are an important part of public transport system in Germany. In this video, we explore Essen Spurbus, which is a guided bus with a small horizontal wheels. This guided busway is a BRT (bus rapid transit) type line, which is similar to O-Bahn line in Adelaide. It is served by Mercedes Benz Citaro 0530G buses.

This is how mass transit shoud run..like a train avoiding traffic on its own line. If more countries adapted this type of system wouldnt have as much congestion. People get to destinations faster then getting stuck in traffic with the rest of commuting people.

Zwischendurch war es ein Hybridbus mit Oberleitung gewesen, der auch durch Straßenbahntunnel gefahren ist, dort mit elektrisch und der entgegen dem üblichen Türen auf beiden Seiten hatte

Far cheaper to build and operate than light rail, with all of the benefits.

Better than trams, because the buses can reach any point using regular bus routes and bus lanes. Buses can divert or go around obstacles when using the roads of course, trams can't. Less maintenance heavy infrastructure, less costly hardware. With all electric buses being used, this has got to be a no brainer.

Didn’t know that Citaros can be fitted with guidewheels. None of the UK ones have guidewheels.

бред какой-то за чем это? Выделенная полоса только для автобуса и всё. за чем ему доп колёса? В Москве куча выделенных полос автобусы и такси ездят и нет проблем.

The benefit is the vehicle is on a bus only road - why does it need to be guided? The road doesn’t appear to be too difficult to navigate
