This is what I have and I have been happy as I write this in 2024.

Twenty seven slow pans to the laptop. That's an average of 1 pan per 12 seconds or 5 pans per minute. I have some ideas on how you can step up that PPM. When you have fullscreen content like graphs you can have a PIP in the corner panning to the laptop. Or make the switch to fast pans altogether. Thanks for the video. Bought this exact model and pretty happy with it.

Hi Andrew, please kindly compare performance, including thermals, of this i7 vs the i5, and baseline 16” MBP.

Could you compare this MBP i7 with base i5 2.0 version ? What could be difference in thermal management an fan noise during test and overall impression in daily work ?

I want to tell you why I bought one. I bought the base model 10th gen 4 port model for my sister. She needs a medium powerful but reliable computer and wants a Mac. The MBA is not powerful enough, gets hot way to fast. She needs a reliable keyboard so the refresh of the 13” MBP makes the perfect computer for her. Seeing it long term she does not mind spending more on the 10th gen and more ports, and it has better cooling.
She does not care about having the newest geek-stuff like 14” mini LED display, the current display is really good and that’s all that counts for her. So the new MacBooks got all the NECESSARY! upgrades, like the most recent CPU and new keyboard. The next refresh will be a new design with slimmer bezels and new display technology, lets be honest, we don’t need that, we just want that. So if you need a new MacBook, go for it now.

i heard that the new mbp 13 takes a long time to reboot... even slower than the mac book air.. does it really??
and will the 10th gen i7 heat up more than the i5?
im currently in a dilemma which to go with i5 or the i7.

I have this same 2021 macbook pro 13" With upgrades, i got i7 with 1 terabyte hard drive and 8 memory the same as in the video and i love it. I have had mine for 6 months now and one cool thing is i use my iPad pro as a 2nd monitor and it works great. I have the 2021 ipad pro on the magic keyboard and its amazing.

I want to know if its worth getting the i7 upgrade on base model to compete with the 1799 model

How is this i7 compared to the high-end i5 2020 MBP?

I just got mine 4 ports $1800 version. It's OK. I like it cause It's my first MBP. Before that I used company 13.3" MacBook Pro.

I just like this 13.3" form-factor for portability. but I want screen to expand as much as possible with really thin bezel. no need to be 14". May be 13.8" thet screen can expand as wide as possible to the thin bezel.

sorry for my bad English.

Hi guys, I am glad that someone finally reviews the new 10-gen i7 MacBook Pro 13 inch which I have ordered (with 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD) and which should arrive at my door within a few days. Is it true that it is only about 6% faster than the new 10-gen i5 MacBook Pro 13? Would be very interesting to see a comparison between these two.

Might as well just get an Apple refurbished MacBook Pro 16 at this price point.

Excellent video, as always. Quick question when running cine r20 at what frequency does the new 2020 settles down to compares to the 2019 i7?

is it worth it to upgrade the CPU on the high end 13?

The main thing you have completely disregarded is thermal performance on extended use the i5 and i7 perform very similarly in this instance and the £200 upgrade for the CPU makes no sense if you need the power at this price point the 16” makes much more sense and far better value for money.£2200+ on a 13” is silly money.

I have the 2019 exact same specs as the one you listed as comparison. It's been the best Mac I've had by far and I can only imagine the 2020 is the same just 25% faster.
