Our main characters are a herd of large, frilled, plant eating dinosaurs – Pachyrhinosaurus. The film follows their youngsters through the seasons and the challenges of growing up and establishing themselves in this prehistoric world. From the moment they hatch, they face predators, extremes of weather and natural disaster as they fight for survival.

Walking with Dinosaurs: Prehistoric Planet 3D is an immersive 3D experience – the characters are animated throughout against real backgrounds. It’s the most authentic dinosaur experience ever to be seen on the giant screen. The animals’ bodies and movements have been precisely built up from fossil evidence and their behaviour is derived from both palaeontology and detailed knowledge of the behaviour of modern animals. Even their body language has been inspired by what we know of real animal behaviour and gives these creatures an amazing realism.

This film is inspired by the major motion picture Walking with Dinosaurs: The Movie. Released in 2013, this family adventure follows the thrilling prehistoric journey of Patchi, an underdog dino, who triumphs against all odds to become hero for the ages.

There needs to be a petition to get this version released on Blu-Ray 3D. The version of this program released in theaters was a disgrace ruined by absolutely ear spliting voiceovers and pointless bookends. What was almost an amazing experience was destroyed by idiot studio executives who had no understanding of why the original miniseries was beloved. The Blu-Ray 3D version does include a version without the voiceovers or bookends that is much improved but it still contains the terrible soundtrack and weird moments like the "rewind sequence." This version from what I hear cuts out all the crap and adds a proper narrator yet their is no Blu-Ray release. That needs to change

At last, the original atrocious version of this movie has ben edited down to be taken more seriously! No Justin Long, no John Leguizamo, no juvenile voice acting at all! Just serious narration and the actual life of ancient dinosaurs and other Mesozoic animals, just like what The Land Before Time and Disney's Dinosaur were both originally trying to accomplish, reminiscent of the segment The Rite of Spring from Fantasia. I'm totally watching this version.
