I went into Waiuta in April this year with my son, i also agree with going to the blowholes halfway between Greymouth and Westport

Excellent choices, especially when traveling with kids. Sad that on my last glacier visit about 10 years ago, you could climb up onto Fox Glacier.

...You missed star attraction No. 4.5 near the Hokitika gorge! - the Shaya moya Ecosite which takes just one guest booking per night, has a fabulous outdoor bath under the stars, makes the best woodfired pizza, and you can do a blacksmithing experience and farm tour as well. Book on Campable.

Lake Matheson between Franz Joseph Glacier and Fox Glacier is one of the most beautiful Lakes in the World in Winter when there is a Beautiful Reflection in the Water, The West Coast has many Beautiful lakes including Lake Brunner north east of Greymouth

Point Elizabeth track comes off Cobden by Greymouth is nice to walk

You missed the most interesting and iconic town on the West Coast with a true 19th Century feel and amazing gold mining history, the first town in the Southern Hemisphere to have a public electricity supply (the original setup now being restored) and rapidly becoming an artist hub. It's amazing how many people are not aware of all this until they see it and rave about it. Reefton!!

The Wet Coast is one of our favourite places in the country which is full of MUST DO's. I think you should have made it 10, not 5 as some classics like the Oparara Basin, Charming Creek Walkway and Brunner Mine missed out.
